U.S. Administration on Aging 
This site is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of a wide variety of topics, programs and services related to aging.

Benefits Check Up 
The website is operated by the U.S. Administration on Aging to help people to connect to government programs that can help them pay for prescription drugs, health care, utilities, and other needs, including the new Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage.

Alzheimer’s Association 
The mission of the Alzheimer’s Association is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research and to enhance care and support for individuals, their families and caregivers.

Alzheimer’s Disease Education Referral Center 
The U.S. Congress created the Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral (ADEAR) Center in 1990 to "compile, archive, and disseminate information concerning Alzheimer's disease" for health professionals, people with AD and their families, and the public.

AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) 
AARP provides resources for elder empowerment: legislative, health, financial, family, home, legal, travel and fun.

National Assoc. of Area Agencies on Aging 
The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (N4A) is the umbrella organization for the 655 area agencies on aging (AAAs) and more than 230 Title VI Native American aging programs in the U.S. The fundamental mission of the AAAs and Title VI programs is to provide services which make it possible for older individuals to remain in their home, thereby preserving their independence and dignity. These agencies coordinate and support a wide range of home- and community-based services, including information and referral, home-delivered and congregate meals, transportation, employment services, senior centers, adult day care and a long-term care ombudsman program.

The Eldercare Locator is a national toll-free referral number funded by the U.S. Administration on Aging (AoA) to assist older people and their families find community services for seniors anywhere in the country. Administered by the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging in cooperation with the National Association of State Units on Aging, the Eldercare Locator connects callers to the best state and community sources of information and assistance to address the issues, needs, or concerns of older persons and their caregivers.

Eldercare Locator Information Specialists take calls Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. All calls are confidential. Recorded voice messaging is available 24 hours a day.

National Family Caregivers Association
The National Family Caregivers Association (NFCA) supports, empowers, educates, and speaks up for the more than 50 million Americans who care for a chronically ill, aged, or disabled loved one. The website offers information and education on helping caregivers advocate for themselves and their loved ones (care recipients).

Founded in 1977, Family Caregiver Alliance was the first community-based nonprofit organization in the country to address the needs of families and friends providing long-term care at home. FCA now offers programs at national, state and local levels to support and sustain caregivers

EMPLOYMENT/CAREER:
Resources for the mature worker.

As the generation of baby boomers ages, older adults will account for a growing percentage of the labor force. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2000, 13 percent of the workforce was age 55 or older; by 2015 that number is expected to rise to 20 percent. For seniors (or anyone) who wants to work for whatever reason…these websites offer tools to search for jobs, polish your resume, hone your interviewing skills and more.

Senior Employment Program 
The Senior Employment Program is a free service matching workers ages 55 and better with employers offering part-time and full-time employment. These workers include mid-life career changers, early retirees, first-time workers, and displaced workers. All prospective workers are eligible for assessment, counseling, and referral to jobs. Low-income workers, defined by Federal guidelines, are also eligible for free training (WIA) or direct employment in community service occupations (Title V). The Senior Employment Program is a service of Catholic Community Services of Baton Rouge, Inc., an Equal Opportunity Agency.

Senior Service America 
Senior Service America is a non-profit organization that helps provide training and employment opportunities to older adults who work to fill community needs. This website also has posts numerous articles on mature employment topics.
